About neoplastic-hub

A community-focused destination for makers, crafters, and hobby enthusiasts since 2009.

From a Single Workbench to a Maker's Community

It started simply enough: a passion for model railways that outgrew the spare bedroom. When we opened in 2009, the shop was modest—a narrow unit packed with kits, paints, and tools, with one workbench in the corner where we'd demonstrate techniques to curious customers.

Those impromptu demonstrations became something more. People stayed longer, asked questions, brought their projects in for advice. We realised we weren't just selling supplies—we were part of a community that needed a place to gather, learn, and share.

By 2013, we'd knocked through into the neighbouring unit and fitted out proper workshop spaces. By 2017, we were hosting monthly events and our first annual festival. Today, we support makers across more than 180 craft disciplines, but the spirit remains the same: we're here because we genuinely love this stuff, and we want to help others discover that same joy.

What We Stand For

Quality Over Quantity

We'd rather stock fewer products that we genuinely believe in than fill shelves with mediocre alternatives. Every item in our range has been tested by someone on our team, and we only recommend what we'd use ourselves.

Community First

Making can be solitary, but it doesn't have to be lonely. We create spaces—physical and virtual—where crafters connect, share techniques, and support each other's growth. Some of our best ideas have come from customer conversations.

Knowledge Sharing

Hoarding expertise helps no one. Our instructors teach openly, explaining not just how but why. We want every workshop participant to leave more capable than they arrived, with knowledge they can build on independently.

Continuous Growth

The craft world evolves constantly. New techniques emerge, materials improve, communities form around fresh interests. We stay curious, regularly adding new disciplines and updating our expertise to remain genuinely useful.

Makers Who Help Makers

Our team combines decades of craft experience across dozens of disciplines. More importantly, everyone here is an active maker—we understand the challenges because we face them ourselves.

Why Makers Choose Us

Genuine Expertise

Every staff member is an active crafter. When you ask for advice, you're speaking with someone who's faced the same challenges in their own projects.

Curated Selection

We don't stock everything—we stock the right things. Products are chosen for quality and value, not margin. If something doesn't meet our standards, it doesn't make it to the shelves.

Flexible Learning

Three-hour tasters, full-day intensives, multi-week courses—choose the format that fits your life. Morning, evening, and weekend options available.

Ongoing Support

Workshop alumni receive continued guidance, access to studio facilities, and discounts on supplies. Your relationship with us doesn't end when the course does.

Come and See for Yourself

Whether you're looking for supplies, considering a workshop, or just want to browse, we'd love to welcome you.
